toook my sons dog for a long walk during the summer and stumbled upon a disused quarry (some machinery still present but all motors/control gear gone) and found this on the floor



it should have been here



no innards in tranny all copper windings taken and oil/laminated core discarded next to it

even cut the incommer with a still saw or simmilar must have been dead as no burn marks



is this a one off or are they getting worse the red incommer voltage 11KV? at a guess if it was energised.

That's a lot of oil to dump into the ground as well, causes havoc with the local water course and rivers etc. Any fish or water based wildlife within a few kilometers is likely to go belly up shortly.

huge lake 200m away thought the oil in newer trannys was better now (no pcbs etc) the incommer was ally so they left it
