Hi guys,

would I need to earth a metal chimney flue inside the building as an extraneous conductive part, and would this then effectively extend the earthed equipotential zone out onto the roof area?

The flue is physically attached to the metal casing of the boiler (which is earthed as an exposed conductive part).

This means the flue is effectively already connected to the earthing system (via the boiler casing). I'm assuming it doesn't require its own 'dedicated' bonding conductor.

As the flue extends 'outside' of the building and onto the roof then is the earthed equipotential zone not also effectively extended to the outside roof area?

It's only an extraneous condutive part if it is liable to introduce an earth potential INTO the building....which it will not do unless it is in contact with the ground. If i'ts not an extraneous conductive part it doesnt require bonding. PLease read the definition of an extraneous conductive part in the BRB.
