Hi

I have been given a 1000w HPS/Metal Halide ballast with and e40 fitting. Can i use any 1000w metal halide e40 bulb or does it really have to match the ballast in more ways than the wattage. Does a digital ballast make any difference?

For instance I am using it for screen printing exposure, but it is in fact a hydroponics ballast set up and I want to swap out the sodium bulb for an un protected metal halide bulb.

Any help appreciated.

bulb i'd like to use. HIE1000W/U/BT120/4K
