metal halide floodlight on a sensor

Would a metal halide floodlight work properly on a pir sensor? I think I would be better using a halogen floodlight instead but the customer has a spare mh handy

bad idea. by the time the halide has struck and warmed up, the sensor will have turned it off. stick to halogen unless firing with a photocell.

All the switching on an off not really compatible with the nature of the lamp, not what it's designed for.

If you're looking for outside flood lights try led floods
led hut has a good range and they even come with a sensor
