Mr. Anderson

Hi guys

I had to quote a job to play around adding a new lighting point and switch yesterday. As I was walking through the house I notices a few metal switches dotted around the place in the extention. I had a look in the cu and noticed that there was no earth for the lighting circuit, I then checked the back of the metal switches to find they've all been wired in using T&E. I informed the costomer that the earth had no continuity and that these switches needed replacing or an earth running back to the cu. The customer didn't want to pay for the wiring job and asked me to replace the switches.

So what I was wodering, is there a brand of switch that has a metal look finish? I've had a quick google and couldn't find anything.

CHeers,
Chris.

Ive bought some from screwfix where theres a clip on metal facia over plastic sockets (for looks and for decorating purposes) but be warned some of the black ones are only plastic facias.

I've used some GET electrical sockets and light switches with clip on metal-effect fascias. They are entirely plastic, and interchangeable.
