The Incoming supply has been relocated to a new electrical cupboard outside of the property ( i did not do this obviously). This will now house the main fuse and the meter. The C/U is going to move about a metre further into the room that it is currently situated in. Meter tails were 25mm. earth is 16mm. Because of this change of set up the C/U is now much further (roughly 8m) away from the incoming supply. My query is this:-
1. will the tails need another isolator if a certain length from meter to c/u is exceeded?
-the people who moved the incomer seem to have advised the customer that this is required.
2. I would recommend that the new route for the meter tails from the new meter position to the C/U is boxed in along the top of the ceiling - this will also give us an accessible space to extend all the circuits along to the new C/U position.
- However - If the customer objects to this boxing in - are there any specific regs to be aware of in regards to recessing the new meter tails within mechanical protection in the wall?
Grateful for any expertise on this issue.
Thanks in advance
