Was round at a friends replacing a broken socket cover and when i went to isolate the ring main i noticed their are 2 tails going from the head to the meter but coming out of the meter into the dnos isolator is 3 tails and am not sure why? i though it might have somthing to do with the size of the first tail not being big enough so they added another tail from the meter in?

I take it the E7 is for economy mode, does the meter switch this on and off through the tails when it comes in and out of E7? I hadnt put any though into how meters switch between economy 7 and the normal tarriff so didnt think this would be done via the use of switching tails just though the meter was programed to switch into mode and job done. appologies for my blind neglegence.

Sure the outer case of the C/U may look (as you say) funny.
But its still perfectly functional.
If those MCB's were fitted to a 3ph Dist board, that's exactly the orientation they would sit at on the busbars.

That said, its not exactly pleasing to the eye.
