meter tails

Hi all

I'm doing an eicr and I've come across 25mm consumer unit tails connector blocked on to 16mm tails going into meter what code would you recommend

Are the blocks open or is it a Henley type?

Connector blocks 40amp, no signs of thermal damage.

So they are in simple connector blocks with the screw terminals showing?
What code do you think this should have?

I wouldn't even say a 40A connector block is a secure connection. Especially the crap they make these days!

I doubt you could get 25mm tails into a 40A jb.

I'd put it down as a C3- improvement recommended. A 100A connector block (if more than 2 cables) and/or a 100DP switch could be installed after the meter.

I doubt this "issue" has been described correctly!

If the service fuse protecting the 16mm tails is adequate for the tail size and the connection block is the correct rating & secure then for me there would be no no code. (Makes no odds about the 25mm, its the 16mm thats the limiting factor)
If you've only got a 40A connector then I would guess thats not up to the potential load and needs replacing ..... but as above pic & more info needed to really pass judgment!!

As already said, no way 25mm tails will fit into a standard 40A connector block. This situation has not been described accurately.

Unless the cable has had multiple cores cut out. It could be a C1 if its in a 40A connector, unsupported with the brass screws easily touchable.

I agree we need a photo but the OP seems to have gone quiet.
