I am in need of a good method statement and risk assessment for my napit assessment next week. I've searched the Internet and can't find anything that's any good. Can anyone point me in the right direction to get one. Thanks

good rams cost a fortune as are ususally done by h&s depts or specialist co's.you could if you can get hold of another co's rams re write them for yourself, not sure of the legality of that tho..

You need to write it yourself. Is the industrial unit in use when you are working? Is there a dangerous process taking place, will you be working at height etc.

Most risk assessment is common sence and you just need to look round at the environment you will be working in and the work you will be carrying out. Identify the hazard (something with the potential to cause harm) and asses the risk of it happening. Then identify the way you will manage the risk.
The method statement is just putting I writing how you will be carrying it out. It is not really something you can down load off the Internet as it is very job specific.

as mech says if its a one off job rams will take time, were issued with rams that cover everthing 100's of pages of any task we will carry out,we just issue the ones that are applicable to that job,ie cable pulling/ steps/ladder use/working at height etc etc,and even more etc/etc's

They should never be 100's of pages they should be as short as is possible if companies are producing long RAMS they need to look at their procedure as long RAMS are no use they should be short and not contain technical references!

risk assesments are just that, risks of any task undertaken, its runs into that many for a reason,if you dont have them you wont get a ptw, simple as..

Brilliant!! Thanks . I've got my assessment on wed with stroma, and have found :- "Employers with five or more employees must have a written health and safety policy and risk assessment." at the end of the HSE doc. I've printed and highlighted that bit, so as I'm a one man band, now it's down to the assessor to explain what powers they've got to overrule the HSE!
