Stay away or purchase?

Looking for a test meter on a low budget is it worth purchasing or waiting out for a fluke.

Aslong as it does all the functions to sign of domestic work i'd be happy!

Any reviews or feedback would be much appreciated!

AAAArrrrGGGGGHHHHH!! STAY AWAY!!!

My old firm had one of these testers. The exact one i think. Nobody bothered with it. It was an all singing all dancing piece of kit, did more than a megger tester (phase rotation etc..) but is the least user friendly piece of test equipment i have ever used. The instructions were useless too. I'd stay away if i were you.... I remember using it one day, i gave up after a while. for another 100 bob you can pick up a nice simple megger MFT1552.

Hi I have one of these, ive been using it for over 3 years now and I'm not really a fan of it at all, it was my first tester and is quite itimidating to use, the instructions were useless I had to go online to work it out! It's also really dodgy on continuity readings and gives different results when testing the same circuit all the time it always has even after it's calibrated! It's a mission just to zero the leads!!! I've been looking at getting a new one for a while and it's looking like a megger for me, either a 1730 or a 1553 depending on the beat deal.....oh and after sending years not using a remote lead and finally using obe the other day I cant believe what I've been missing out on lol! Deffo getting a remote lead my advice would for you would be to save the extra dosh and get a better tester and a remote lead, after all this bit of kit is essentially your bread and butter and you'll have it for years to come. Hope this helps
