Hi fellas, i have ended up with a Metrel EasiPLUS MI3000,and have had a small play with it,now it has a set of new re-chargeables fitted.

It seems to function fine, will need a calibration if it's a keeper...does not seem as intuitively simple,as the Megger 1700 series, but not had a play with much later Metrel gear.

Got the short instructions,so only a brief overview...could not find how to lock IR test on,but maybe it's not an option...

So,basically i'm only asking if the consensus is mantlepiece or skip :smile5:

Should be OK, so long as it calibrates, keep your finger on the button to continue IR testing.
Search for the full instruction manual online, I am sure it is available.
If it works and is in spec then why not use it?

I've got one, had it for a while, I find it reliable and straight forward. Only major problem is the Auto RCD test takes a while but I guess that's only because I'm stood at the board waiting to flick a switch.....zzzzzz Display is really useful gives constant L-E-N readings.

Cheers,team...I did find the full instructions,as Richard suggested, and it's setting up is fairly straightforward.

The only thing, apart from resembling one of my 7 year olds' toys...is not being able to lock on,the IR test. A minor gripe, but it is surprising how much extra work is required, when swapping to a machine without this function.

I think i may calibrate it,and retain it as a back-up,should the 1720 ever become self-aware,and launch an ICBM strike...Ta
