anybody advise me on this particular test kit as I'm thinking of buying one

Hi Saracen,

There are two different models which look identical. There is a Metrel MI3125 Eurotest Combo Lite, and the Metrel MI3125B Eurotest Combo Pro.

The pro model offers the following over the standard model:

1) Type B DC current / high frequency AC current RCD's test option,
2) Earth resistivity test (with use of the additional Metrel earth resistivity kit),
3) The ability to store and download test results into the Eurolink Pro software included.

The Metrel MI3125B Combo Pro is also one of a few testers within the Metrel range which you can connect the Metrel Easi Switch Adaptor to. This adaptor essentially allows you to connect all six conductors of a ring final circuit to your tester, which in return will display all of the 'end to end' resistance values of line, neutral and CPC. The tester will also auto calculate your R1+R2 value by linking the Line and CPC conductors via a relay within the unit.

I've got the 3125b and find it great so far. Had it a year now with no problems . Rechargeable batteries, nice handy size and the magnetic back is like an extra pair of hands when taking readings at dbs. (unless they're plastic of course)
