Personally I prefer a laptop as screen is full size and easy to see. Also I keep alot of reference material on the laptop which means it is always accessible when I am testing.

do you find it easyer and / or quicker than the old school pen and paperl method.

i'm in the market myself for a mobile device for the mft1553. tried it with the laptop and it does work fine, but was also interested to see what others use. might be worth looking on ebay for a windows mobile phone that does it, or i was very tempted to get a pda with windows on, seen some dell ones banging around for about £60 £70. think there call axiam if it helps.

As per above from Dave. Swap to a 63A outlet and problem goes away. What gets plugged into it is not part of an inspection.
