mi mains tails

Hi fellow sparkies,good to join you.About to rewire a ground floor flat,the tails are fed from a kmf switch fused down to 60 amp external to the flat in a mains cupboard which supplies all the flats.My question is what are the regs on keeping the mi mains cable to the flat.I 'm thinking l'll have to replace it with 16 or 25 mm swa(about a 12 m run),with separate 16 mm earth,but its a bit of a job,any input would be grateful cheers

What size is the mi cable?

If the MICC is correctly sized for the load, and tests ok, then i cant see the problem with keeping it.

My house has a micc mains cable (about 10mm) and the lights are stil wired in micc as the ends are fine and both circuits IR tests were clear good electrical and mechanical sound (14th edition) no seperate earth.

Nothing wrong with a bit a micc

cheers for the input,not sure what size it is,l'd say they'll probably 10 mm,but must of been installed to cope with a 60 amp load,i just needed a bit of positive feedback(haven't touched mi since i was an apprentice) so if it tests out fine l'll keep them...still think l should put in a 16 mm earth though for 17th

Take a look at the pot, you might be able to see the mi size stamp.

Plus, to make it easier to terminate the MI, connect them up to a DP service block and run your new tails from there.
