Been on the farm today, farmer wants some heaters to help keep the frost out and stop the girls getting to chilly when they're giving up the 'white stuff'!

The parlour is around 5m x15m. Heaters need to be suspended from the steel work.

Radiant heaters seem to be the most practical? Any ideas on what size I might need and how many, and also where I might get them from? My usual supplier (N&E) don't do anything for this type of environment!

Cheers...;)

With loads off water flying round when they wash down you are looking at something which is going to be waterproof

As an ex dairy farmer, we went with the quartz halogen infra red heaters. They heat bodies not the air or the pipework. They need to be mounted towards the operator, no point in heating the cows.
If farmer wants to stop pipework freezing up that's a different thing and we used a oil fired space heater on 24hr timer to come on at 4am.

Best way to keep parlour warm is to stop draughts but the girls have to get in and out somehow!

You could fit trace heating around the pipwork to stop it freezing and then lag the pipework there are specialist companies that do this
