I had a call out last Saturday afternoon to a flat where all the power had gone off. Talked through usual things on the phone... turn breakers off, turn on RCD, turn on breakers one by one, etc - nothing.
So went over about 1.45. Realised as I stood on the balcony outside the flat that I could see the New Den and hear the roar of the crowd at Millwall vs West Ham.
Checked board - no incoming power. Where's the meter? Just outside - you have no credit on your key meter! So fortunately the fix took just as long as it took to go to the shop and put credit on the key, and I was away before 2.15 and the end of the football when the streets would have been full of friendly fans!
