Chaps, I'm absolutely insensed!!!!!!!!

Some spotty faced vandal has scratched the front wing on my 56 plate golf gti to bits with a key or stone or summut.

Just wondering if anyone has any magic remedys for polishing them out. I've tried colour magic and t-cut, it's worked a bit but they're still really visible.

I'm fuming, the youth of today have no respect, borstal or conscription that's what they need!!!!!

Any suggestions welcomed.

Re: Mindless ****** vandalism!!!

Hi Lenny very sorry to hear about your damage the same happened to my Gixer is it down to metal or primer or not that deep ?

Re: Mindless ****** vandalism!!!

Cheers mate.

Well i've been looking at it with a magnifying glass to see if I can see metal but luckilly not.

It's gone through the lacquer and paintwork and has just reached the primer, I'm a bit wary of using too much t-cut as I may take too much of the rest off.:(

hi len
wet and dry sandpaper 1200 or 1500 grit keep it very wet and go lightly in circles then pollish back to a shine with auto glym
dont panic when you have used the paper it will be really dull but will pollish back. softly softly

Do you have a polishing/buffing wheel ? seems to work well with cutting/buffing compound then polish there are some good links on google just seen some also works on scuffs but if its lightly gone into primer i would recommend 1st using a wax stick or paint pen and build up the paint again coverups are ok but best with a buffing wheel.
Hope its sorted easily for you m8.
Regards
Kung.

Another good suggestion ! also works on surface rust on chrome as well as light steel wool with polish

whats the name of the one its 10 times better
than t cut so they say tv add robert dyas , woolworths ( yes i know they have gone ]
and a few other stores something 27.

Sorry to hear about that bud.

It may be better to get it along to a bodyshop and see what they say especially if its down to the primer.

You can mask it with all sorts of products, but to fill and sand really is a specialist job.

I know i wouldnt and im quite handy.

Same thing's happened to me recently -some punk has keyed my side door and dented rear door of my beautiful vw transporter! it's not as if I've upset anyone either...like you say mindless idiots..

Think your right mate.:(

Another suggestion for the paint
In no circumstances try to just polish it out with T-cut etc. if it's down to the primer. You need to fill the scratches first with a paint stick and then t-cut it.
Must be a S.Wales thing, happened to me at the ASW plant about '95 or thereabouts.
Suggestion for the treatment of Vandals, A good talking to with a Baseball bat.

did anyone see that program about 2yrs ago about that guy who was going round wrecking cars by scratching them up ! the scum actually thought he was creating art and said people should be proud of his work and should pay him !!!!!!!!!!!! cant remember what program think it was panarama or makentire etc
