A while back I bought one of these little torches; New Mini Gas Torch Shrink Tubing Heat Gun Tool W37 | eBay. Not from this seller I must add. Apparently, you just insert a click type cigarette lighter. But I can't for the life of me to get it to work. Anyone know how or has one?

I used one similar , just fill the refillable cartridge with lighter fuel, refit it. The one I used had a little locking device and auto ignition.
Must admit refillable cartridge looked like a throw away lighter but had no wheel or flint.

I bought one of these too and had exactly the same problem - until I realised I had to put gas in it !!!

It is just a disposable lighter with the flint mechanism removed, and is refillable from a canister that can be bought from a Pound Shop, OR you can simply put a full disposable lighter into it - with the flint mechanism - and it will work.

You have no idea how happy (delighted even) I was to read your post as I was beginning to feel like the most stupid person on God's earth. Now I have company !!

Do you remember when you were a kid and you used to take the cover off a lighter, turn it up to max, then lift the lever to go back and turn it up some more, then put it back together to make a mini flamethrower?
I've heard you have to do that, but leave the cover off.

No ..... when I was a kid, we only had matches and candles to play with. :(

Mine doesn't have refillable cartridge, I've tried ripping the head off a lighter, but it just floats arond inside the case.

This 'refillable cartridge' looks just like a disposable lighter, but there'll be a little brass valve at the bottom where you can refill it.

Hi Midwest check out this video I know its a different make but it may be how yours works.

check out 1min-25 sec

Soto Pocket Torch - YouTube

Thanks Silverfox, followed the video putting in my 'zippo' lighter, but it still doesn't work. Guess I bought a duff one!

Infact, just rechecking the vid, my light seems to almost flush with the holder, not slightly proud. Perhaps I could put some packing in there. Can anyone give my measurments on how far the lighter sticks out of the holder?
