I have done a socket addition on a ring circuit for my minor job for the assessment. The CU is a 16[SUP]th[/SUP] edition board where downstairs & upstairs rings are on the RCD side and the light circuits aren’t protected by RCD. Would this work be suitable for the assessment and what kind of questions should I expect from the assessor?

Many thanks.

No problems with that for a minor works. You could be asked anything. Most likely he will ask you things about the job you have shown him, like what is the maximum Zs for the protective device, how do you know that the device is suitable for the PSCC of the install. You wont be asked anything too deep, but what you dont know or cant remember he will expect you to be able to find out in the appropriate books. There will be no trick questions, and if you do answer one wrong, he will put you right, dont worry no one expects us to know it all.

Cheers............Howard

Heres a thread with lots of questions in. All the assessors across all the bodies are normally pretty good and kind. You'll be fine! Just offer them a drink and a biscuit.

He'll most likely ask about your background and quick back ground about your firm. Ask you a few questions whilst hes filling out forms i.e can you explain safe isolation, whats the difference between zs and R1 + R2 etc. Be prepared for most things but it wont be to hard if you've got your 17 edition under your belt (should imagine you have)

Heres a link with some other ideas.
