Hi, first post so hope i get it right.
Just got qualifications after 35 years in printing and looking to do some straightforward non notifiable work, a friend wants some ceiling downlighters changed in hall and landing. I am planning to use a minor works certificate. going to check earth continuity, Zs, polarity and RCD time, the question I have is is would you recommend checking the insulation resistance on the circiut as I am not actually changing anything on that. i know its a bit basic but want to get the paperwork right.
Thanks in anticipation.

Are you just swapping like-for-like?

If so, there's not even a need for certification but of course you can issue a MEIWC just to show the extent of your involvement.

Hi, just doing a straight swap its a cosmetic job going from white to chrome fittings, so don,t need to check insulation?

Hi, I know of some residential landlords that insist on a certificate even for like for like. They want belt and braces certification and are prepared to pay for it! Fab for us.
