Hi, solar pv install upto 4kw domestic. Minor works or full installation certificate ?

Point taken malcolm, full cert it is then. Do YOU test all circuits prior to energising PV system, seems to me that its alot of work PV companies expect an electrician to do in one day. Especially if you have a CU with 10 circuits connected. OR, do you just carry out essential tests ie Earth continuity, Ze PFC , and then just test your PV circuit? With an old property you could be opening up a can of worms. There was me thinking that by adding a stand alone 16a mcb for PV and connecting into DP tails block you were avoiding the nessecity of opening the can of worms? As long as earthing is upto scratch....

why do you need to test all circuits?
you only need to test the one you have installed, make sure the bonding is up to scratch and exit stage left

Tanglewood - not sure who your CPS is, but NAPIT have minor works/single circuit certs in one. easier than 3 page doc.

Hi Dansk, yeah NAPIT registered here, minor works and single circuit on one form. I just assumed that all scheme providers minor works certs were the same. Apologies to julianc and malcolm sandford. I should have made that clearer when i said 'minor works' cert. Yes, 1 page much easier than 3 .

No need for apologies. As a happy medium, my cert of choice is the Kewtech Part P Domestic EIC - at a healthy 2 pages it's ideal when you are unsure if 1 or 3 pages is required ;-)
