missing cpc ligthing

hi guys some months ago i did eicr test prior to a new ccu and bonding upgrade prior to a new kitchen the ccu was 50 yrs old i discovered no cpc in the lighting circuit i explained that for me to fit a new ccu this have to fixed by rewiring the lights which went down like a fart in a sub as the house was beautiful anyway
i quoted and didnt get the job bumped int the kitchen guys app some spark changed ccu and told customer wouldnt have anything to do with the lights am i right assuming due to him changing board he becomes responsible for it all because i was trained this is the case or am i wrong thanks in advance for your comments

Did the cable test OK? Are there any non-compliant fittings on the lighting circuit?
Before quoting “it’s not up to reg’s” step back and think. Does it conform to the reg’s in place at the time of installation?

No need to rewire them, just make sure EVERYTHING on the circuit is class 2/PVC/plastic and place a sticker on the DB stating that circuit..... Has no provision for earth, job done, you can fail if its metal accessories and the customer won't change them but if you give them the option if ditching metal against a rewire or running a cpc then I bet they take the 1st option

Yea the good practice guides are quite good, agree with most of the above, except to say to run a separate CPC to each point including each light switch is virtually impossible if you want to comply with the regs, time you did it you could have rewired the whole circuit.

should of took the job on and as said above chang db but put stickers on saying class 2 only on lighting circut we as sparks will never get away from kitchen fitters or some **** head out the pub doing it cheaper and more dangerous than us competent electricians rant over lol
