Hi all.

as stated i have a missing neutral on a ring main. i have had all the sockets off and found no loose connections and worst of all its split over two floors! can anyone help as to how i can find this missing neutral or broken wire? i was thinking of getther an R2 extension reel, but as to the method of using it im not sure.

Thanks

Kirk

Hi

I'm guessing you have a break on the end to end readings L-L, N-N & cpc-cpc continuity tests on the ring?

Linking the 2 lives at the CU and one n eutral together (all 3) and then doing a N-L continuity test on every socket. This will show you roughly where their is a break. It could be narrowed down further by redoing the check but by changing the neutral connected to the two lives.

Hope this helps.

Cheers, Ron

Or rn at cu then link them then as said split ring in middle and locate faulty leg then keep splitting that leg untill you locate fault or faulty run.

Kung.
