Believe me, ....it's not just MK RCD devices that have failures, They are common across the manufactures board. In fact far more common than the manufactures will ever admit too.

Should have stuck to hager.the rep will b summoned for the hairdryer treatment make no mistake.what is it with previously good brands turning to absolute cack in the last couple of years ?

??? What's a Rep going to be able to do about it?? He just sells the stuff... Even if he was an engineer in his own right, he still wouldn't be held responsible for any failures... Hager RCD kit is just as vunerable to failure, as any other manufacturer!!!

I've been using Hager for about 3 years now and have never had a single RCD or RCBO failure. What's more they are made in France and Germany - where they understand the basics behind EOL QC.

And they are readily available, so there should be no need for 100 mile trips to change one. And reasonably priced. And backwards compatible with older gear.

totally agree pc. hager is one of the better thought out brands out there just now.
mk is down there with electriciums finest in my eyes n what a disaster that was as well.there is a mk split board on a shelf in my laboratory for spares, about 20 year old that would outlast any of todays cack thats for sure

Its the relentless rise of the machine: the shaky quality production machine that is china mate and its appealing wage structure and dubious health n safety policy.....very attractive to so called Quality manufacturers/household names etc...........

suppose its all to do with cost these days.put it this way an old square edge mk logic socket was about a fiver 20 year ago. the equivalent is now about ÂŁ4. iknow what one out of the 2 will last the pace.

I`v got a loads of new MK 1, 2 and 3 gang switch fronts in storage at home and i dont like the terminations on em at all...neither do i like the way that if you are a bit too handy tightening the terminations it knackers the mechanisms on em n all.....seen better........

Does anyone know if there are any published reports about this - would make interesting reading?

Have to say I try and get customers to pay for Hager, as to date I've never had a problem with them as a make
