One_of_them

a couple i've fitted lately seem to increase my Zs more then iv normal witnessed. All OK into supply side, but outgoing side seems to be ranging 0.6-1.2 higher

not the end of the world i know but just wondering

cheers as always

Can't say I have noticed that but I have seen on the last 5-6 I have installed is trying to get the fuse carrier back in is a devil of a job, I've had to resort to hitting the carrier with the back of a screwdriver to get the thread engage on the screw. I always liked MK stuff, but there quality seems to be slipping somewhat.

Mk accessories and equipment are now made in China.
I've had problems with MCBs failing, two in a row on one circuit.
Used to rate Mk stuff, not any more.

Agreed spoke to a guy who was changing all his socket faceplates to MK but had to return twice to the big shed as there was problems with the terminal screws. Just to add when he spoke to me about doing it I did advise him not to use MK as their QC was bad but he said he bought them because of the name lesson learned plus he thought he was buying British

I agree that the quality seems to be getting worse. What brought it home to me a couple of weeks ago was when I took an old 1970's MK light switch off and compared how much "meat" there was on the actual switching unit...I would say that the old switch was 4 or 5 times larger, with nice deep terminals and a solid feel. The new units are only a few mm deep and flimsy plastic. I will be going back to Crabtree.

i find that the acel own brand accessories from electric center are good quality and well priced. not sure who makes them .

I even bought a brand new screwdriver for the MK socket terminal screws as they kept chewing up, but I find them so soft that I have to be really careful when tightening.
Maybe I'm just heavy-handed :)

No your not and I moved over to crabtree as a guy who held MK in the highest regards but then again Trading on their name springs to mind a bit like Fluke with their 1600 series and dont forget Megger with the 1700 series debacle

cheers guys,

Normal 13A fuse in

ive experienced everything from the above and have to agree with the fuse carrier been a nightmare to close and the screws are terrible.

At least its not just me
