Hi everyone,
Just stumbled across this forum and it seems fairly friendly and fairly busy (lot of members) so thought I would ask the question I was searching for on the internet.
I work as an Airfield Lighting Electrician on an RAF base and we are having a new modular control system installed by ATG, I wondered if by chance there was any other airfield electricians around here who may have experience of it?
My main questions are, is there a built in contact system to communicate with ATC, our current system has a phone built in to allow requests for local control? Also what are the main benefits of fibre over 15 pair, I'm used to the tag points for fault finding and can't see how this would work with fibre (between D20 units), or is this simply not an issue anymore? Any other advice on the system would be appreciated.
Many Thanks
Joe
