A customer has asked for a panic alarm for his swimming pool so that he can receive alarm signals to his mobile via an app or text. I suppose it's a bit like a ring doorbell but with a big red button instead of a doorbell.
Does anyone know of a monitoring system suitable for this, found plenty that will switch off devices via apps but none that monitor a switch signal unless they fork out for an expensive burglar system that has this capability.

I would suggest that any system requiring the use of push notifications or SMS messages would not constitute a suitable system.

Neither push notifications used by apps or text messages provide a guaranteed delivery mechanism. I certainly wouldn't rely on them for a life/death situation.

Is his primary concern people getting into trouble in the water? If so, who's going to press the button?

A PA on an alarm system can utilize an auto dialler. I'm presuming they have an alarm system if they have a pool.

Edit . Add on auto diallers were available years ago, they still are.

There are other types, that was just a quick google.

As It's going to be used for Airbnb i think he wants to be informed just in case someone get's into difficulties, not sure what the owner will do if he is 30 miles away, but that's what he asked for.
