Thanks for the assistance I've received so far in the trainee forum, much appreciated.

I have another question though and this time it's about a motor I have. On the motor is an info plate and there's a whole load of numbers and letters on it, I'd appreciate some help deciphering what the hell it all means.

Here's a list of the gibberish on the plate;

Ph ; 3
V ; 400v
FLA ; 3.55A
LRA ; 7.8A
COSφ @ FLA; 0.87
EFF2
ENCL ; TEAO IC48
Freq ; 50Hz
r·min−1 ; 1450
AMB ; 40C
Duty ; S1
HP ; 2
INS Cl ; B
Alt ; 1000m
SF ; 1.2
Mnt ; B3

Maybe the trainees can do the copy/paste thing and write explanations next to each one please.

Not so good with this one. Hopefully i am not far off.

After wrapping up my last thread in three replies this one should be a little more difficult and may even require a bit of Googling :)

Very valiant attempt Simon, the efficiency is expressed as an efficiency class and in this case the motor is EFF class2. The ambient temp shows the maximum surrounding air temperature allowed. If anyone else has any suggestions please feel free to shout.
