Hey people,

Been trying to get a proper look and try to get familiar with test sheets and just wondering if anyone has a copy of page 3 of 5, of the NICEIC test certs detailing what each box actually means in simpler terms?

Also would anyone be able to reassure me what all the details on an MCB are for? Think it's usually a 10000 with a 3 under it? Can't remember.

Ohhh and one last thing ha, is the BS number for a MCB, 60898?

Thanks, guys!

BS 60898 sounds right to me, and it sounds like the maximum breaking capacity current that the MCB can safely interrupt before damage. Normally a number in a rectangular box, either 6000 or 10000, for the maximum current in Amps...

Not sure which NICEIC version of the certificate you are looking for as this affects the page numbers.

Modern Circuit breakers are constructed to comply with BSEN60898
Circuit breakers will be type B C or D depending on the protection required against inrush current.
Current rating is the maximum current the circuit breaker can pass without ever tripping
The number in a box is the maximum current (in A) a circuit breaker can safely break. (short circuit capacity)
The single number that may be below it is the maximum current (in kA) a circuit breaker can break and still be usable afterwards (in service capacity)
The voltage rating is the voltage (single/3 phase) under which it should be used.
