Hello all!
I've always been interested in electrics and really fancied getting into solar/renewables.
So at the age of 30, I blindly went for a Trade Skills 4U 5-week domestic and EV charging point installer course, got my quals, quickly realised that no-one would take me on as a mate/trainee due to lack of experience and hard graft through the traditional college/apprenticeship routes.
I've spent the last year and a half travelling NZ and am in maintenance in a hotel here.
I'm pretty handy and still confident with the basics like distribution boards, chasing walls, fitting socket boxes etc.
I really do want to get into renewables back in the UK and will be heading back to Bristol/SW in April.
What do you think of my chances? Back to college? Electrical labourer?
Any suggestions would really help!
Thanks for your time!
Andy
