Hi Guys,

Ive had a strange one today that ive never come across. Just going to install a PV system and the customer has been told that she she needs to pre notify the solar panels before the panels are installed to request the mortgage companies permission? They said that they will have to approve it before works start!

Have you ever heard of this? Obviously in our contract we always tell our customers to inform insurers, make sure planning permission isnt needed etc but never heard of this one!

I know there has been lots of issues re FREE PV regarding Remortgaging but never heard of anything regarding full owned systems for PV???

Be good to hear what you guys think and if you have something in your contract for this???

Thanks Chris

I've not had it with mortgage company but a guy I was pricing for had a wrangle with the insurance company as they wanted all of the info on the installer/kit before they would tell him they were ok with an installation. The guy changed his mind about an install so we never got it resolved.

send through the structural report, design, your MCS cert and warranty, and it shouldn't be a problem.

Was it Lloyds by any chance.

Happened to us our client phoned Lloyds mortgage underwriting dept, they went through script and said we weren't on the list.

I spoke to the guy ripped him a new on, it transpires the script is based on rent a roof.

I told him it needs amended as this lady was purchasing the system out right.

Nearly lost a 9kw on this. Letter was sent out to confirm with lady it was fine to proceed.
regards

wiggly
