I have a quick question about this item... it's a simple motion sensor for lighting. It's rated for 500W incandescent load. I want to use it for some fluorescent lighting. It's for 8 4ft t12's, I can't recall their W rating, but it's def less than 500 total. I just want to know how the difference from incandescent to fluorescent(magnetic load, I believe) would effect this. Will it still work for my needs?

I assume it will, but want to make sure before I order it.

Thanks

Richard is absolutly correct in the loadings therefore this is not adaquate without the use of a relay or contactor. In your position I would also look at reducing the load by using T8 or T5 tubes.

Are you flourescents going to be switching on alot with the PIr or will it just be a few times a day... frequent switching can drastically reduce the lamp life and in some cases cost more in lamp replacements then energy saved.... needs thinking about before you set this up.

YEP! just time tagged the OP's post ...what the heck is this back in the forum for???
