Hi all,

I am after finding out the calculation of the running currents of single and three phase motors. If anyone could help me or point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance
Craig

Treat it as any other load, with the exceptions that you will have:
1/ a power factor
2/ efficiency
3/ start up currents
and maybe
4/ Winding arrangements (star /delta)

The place to look will be on the motor's face plate. There you find at least two of the quantities listed below:
1/ Power rating in Watts
2/ PF
3/ Power rating in VA

You may even find flc, I, in Amps....

Now, I'm available for private consultations, my rates are exorbitant and i charge by the minute, not unreasonable really because its now a bank holiday and I'm probably cheaper than BT per minute.
