Hi everyone, this ones a first for me but weve been asked install and use a three phase supply in a large new build house. The 16 way dis board is going to go in a ground floor store / plant room and will give us either 48 single phase ways or a few less if we use some three phase 22kw EV's

The tricky issue is mounting height as, with an auxiliary SPD board fitted underneath, the dis-board will be pretty much 1m high. Based on this at what height should the board be mounted as the regs are clear for a horisontal row of MCB/RCBO switches but not for vertical breakers in a type B board /discuss

Top of the board shouldn’t be any higher than comfortable working height.
You can bend slightly for the lower end…. But you you don’t want it too high that you need steps to reach the top.

What is the building regs saying for the lower limit for sockets in case of disabled access, I seem to remember 0.45m, so top would be 1.45m and not too bad.

I guess bigger issue is if kids can access it, but maybe have a key-lock for the door and a hook for the key beside it at sane height so toddler can't reach?

You may already have chosen type, etc, and Hager ain't cheap, but they have a neat SPD kit that fits inside next to the incomer switch. You can buy the board pre-assembled (such as JK116BGSPD) but you may find it cheaper to shop around for the bits.
