Any know of a solution for mounting panels on a fibre cement roof that has concrete beams/purlins underneath? The bolts that hold the roof down have a hook which hooks to the bottom of the concrete purlin to keep the sheets in place, but with the weight of the panels I'm guessing the only way to do it is by having a system that screw/bolts into the concrete but have never seen anything like that? Any help would be greatly appreciated

Schletter seems the only solution to this look up the UK office and give them a call,(you tube schletter fixE got a nice video) ! I'm working on the same roof but I think the panels might outlast the roof. so I'm looking into new/roof integrated solutions.

Also its probably got asbestos so you will probably need to price for a specialist company to drill out, also safety netting !

You will also need a structural survey on this, and you will need the original spec of the purlins so the structural engineer can do the calcs reqd.
Insurance companies are getting funny about this sort of thing.
You could use J bolts to mount the frame, its a pain in the bottom though as you will need a man inside feeding them through.
I hope this helps.

you don't need a man on the inside to fit j bolts, you just need to spec the j bolts correctly and drill the hole correctly, so once they ar thrugh you can twist them ontothe lip. quite basic stuff for someone who has dne it before, when you orignally fit j bolts for the orignal claddng it is from the roof side only. whether the not the wind calcs and structural survey and panel warranties allw you to connect with j bolts is another matter. we've fitted a few to these type of roof and its a pain. most of the time they can't be signed off. also you need to be aware the concrete purlins have re-enforcing rods through them which will mean drillng them is a monumental pain...

When looking at resheeting options some time ago it was suggested we use 3x2 timber battons strapped alongside the existing concrete purlins using tensioned steel strap ( strapex.co.uk )

We have NEVER ONCE had a building of this type pass a structural survey by just fixing to the original purlins alone ?
The two main ones around our area are Crendon or AT COST .
I dare say there will be a structural engineer somewhere out there willing to do so but i am glad to say we have never managed to find them !
