Does anyone know what the mounting system used on this existing installation is please?

I know that roof type well!! Though don't recogniose the mounting -
How are the uprights fixed to the roof?
How is the load spread across it - or is it effectively point loading at each of the triangles?

Good to see they tied up the cables properly too.....

They must have been tight on roof space as well so they put it in the shade i guess....

I take it the installer is no longer trading..

Exactly what I thought. Would be really interesting to see how this is fixed. Doesn't appear to have ballasting nor fixings. Also, is it just a trick of the camera or is that front row very close to the front wall?

Thanks for taking a look. We are yet to get on the roof to see it up close - we have been asked for a guide price for another unit on the row.

Space is tight and yes, it looks like the panels are right up against the parapet.

Worcester - what is your preferred mounting for this roof?

Judging by the rest of the installation ... I'd say either Lego or Meccano.

Mounting. it depends upon the warranty status and condition.

You could use the K2 A-frame system that sits on flat rails, if the upper secretly fixed skin is solid enough, - if it's not, then on one roof we ended up stiching the top surface down to the purlins beneath, 4000, extra long, double width, bimetal screws and £1k later we had a structurally sound roof.

They can be done portrait or landscape depending upon space, wind loading etc.


Alternatively you could use the same mounting sitting on a normal K2 light rail and S5 clamps spefcifically designed for this type of roof (SpeedDeck) K Mini

Yup - its a row of 6 privately owned units with no demarcation on the roof showing the boundary. so that space is next doors property.

The unit we are looking at is 7m wide.

In which case, if you're only looking at one row, I'd go for the K2 A frame with the panels in portrait, racked up at 35 - 40 degrees. Looking at the height of that parapet, anything close to the (presumably back) edge will be reasonably protected.
