I have a problem with BT.

Had phone line & number with them since 1995 all our customers know the number, Yell, Thompson etc have paid adverts featuring said number.

We now plan to move (only 5 miles) but the new premises are on a different exchange.

I have contacted BT who were far from helpful. After telling me there was no way to keep the number I finally got the response that it would cost… £159 per quarter to have the telephone line redirected to the new premises.

Luckily my parents are served by the old exchange so I might have to get BT to install a separate line at their house and forward calls to the mobile ( like I do now to be honest). At the moment I’m thinking this might be the cheapest option

HELP has anyone got any ideas?

Thanks

Jim

As you are out of contract with BT have you contacted other providers to see if any of them can take over your number from BT and provide the service you require.

Contacted BT and told them I'd be taking my business line to another service provider...

They have now decided they can move the number and they'll do it for free!!!!

Just goes to show.

Thanks for the idea Chris
