Iv got a job coming up and it inolves moving a mainboard in a domestic property. He customer wants to move it 2 meters forward from where it is. EDF are also moving the metre to the new location. Will i have to renew all the legs of the cables that go into the mainsboard? Is it againts regs or bad workmanship if i use junction box to extend the cables?

I allways use crimps. I try not to butt them up but cross them over if you see what I mean

standard crimps in a poly enclosure if the enclosure is to be inaccessible.

if you can keep it accessible then din rail terminals or even push fit terminals. no need to solder & crimp just crimp them and label them.
