Hi first posting & i was asked today to move some floor sockets in an office. Having never done this 1st question is . Is it possible? 2nd, would the floor have been built to accommodate lots of boxes? the building is about 12 years old. any help would be appreciated

Floor sockets are normally ran in a trunking system with the socket outlets as part of a module, where the floor is solid that is... Is this the type of system? or is it a false floor where tiles can be lifted with T&E just slung under it? More info on the type of floor system thats involved would help.

Hi, we have a number of offices at work that use floor sockets mounted in dedicated enclosures within suspended floors so can generally be moved short distances without any wiring at all. This could become a big job though if solid concrete floor, etc so more info needed

if they're plugged into a power track, with a raised floor, it'll be a piece of cake. i'm guessing they're not though, as they could simply move the sockets themselves.

bit more info' op.

You have got to be joking, T&E slung under raised floors feeding floor boxes??

Nope, some of the crappy installs Ive seen are just that. Floor with 2ft square tiles standing on legs. with T&E just slung under it. Ohh how I wish I was joking..... Its a shame that today quality counts for nothing, its all about who does it the cheapest!! If the finished job looks ok and works then well thats all that seems to matter with some people. And NO I wouldent advocate doing a job like that....

Yeah, I've got a comment. If ever I need any tiles removing on the Gold Coast I will give you a bell. In fact, I've got another comment. What comments do you want? Daz
