Many Thanks

I am a Mr Electric franchisee and last year when anyone asked about joining I was negative no real national accounts etc. A lot has changed though recently. Just this week I sent an electrician to be trained by Dyson to fit those air blade hand dryers. Dyson want national coverage. I had another electrician finish his smart meter training. B Global will fill the diary for anyone trained. Suit someone who has electrical knowledge. I have 2 electricricians on a course all day today for a contract to fit monitors in all schools nationwide. Wednesday there is another course for installing yet another energy saving device which has been taken up by all Tesco stores Premier Inns Airports in the midlands plus many more. We are trained for Photovoltaics. I am obtaining Carbon Trust loans in my twenty years managing various businesses I have never known anything like it.

You only had the franchise for a year?

I heard a wee story in wholesalers about Dyson waves some wee scrote opened one up in a club and put grit, fine sand so when it turned on someone got a hand job they werent expecting

Had the franchise a couple of years started great then Homeserve took work away and Rainbow and Chem Dry dropped prices. All of a sudden I was left with nothing. Over the last six months though things have changed. Next 2 weeks I have over 120 Smart Meters to install a few Ecogen boilers for British Gas. First week in August I start work for B Global in their words there are hundreds of schools in my area they want me to fit monitors in. Plus about 20k of my own work booked in. It won't suit everyone as it is becoming more of a management franchise than a one man and his van operation. All I can say is the company has changed this year and I'm sure will continue to change.

overshoes on mat on dust sheet, i try to be as tidy as possible but this is overkill>. loved the video, now I know why i am not making a profit, they always take their tools with them after every job !! and why I can never localise the fault, because they always take a toolkit into the house!!

I couldn't work with a shirt and tie on all the time. Also did you notice his tool bag was on the bare carpet before he rolled his handy rug out!!! a sackable offense.

Say what you want about mr electric franchise but in today's climate you need support, yes a big outlay but first year looking im on track for at 500k with only a couple of months to go, if I started on my own where would I be. It is what it is a foundation no more and links into contracts you couldn't get near of, if you want to be a one man band go it alone if you want to build a business look at the facts links into national and inter nation contracts everyone makes there own choice

so out of that what is your personal WAGE!!! 40K??? i don't doubt that MR ELECTRIC can be profitable if ran correctly but the outfit i got associated with was ran by a knit witt with one way of doing things which was his way and be it right or wrong his way was all ways the best way!! used to basically run a dictatorship from his office and had ZERO personal skills considering he used to be a project manager for a large lighting company! was very disappointed with his attitude as at interview he seemed professional and sensible! any way that was 2009 and he has had a high turnover of staff for obvious reasons! not going into details but i set up Part Time and my first year figures were impressive considering i averaged only 1 job a week over the year, 2011 has been a different kettl eof fish mind!! been more or less fully booked for my 3 days a week i work and exceeded turnover to the point i have invested a LOT of money back in to my business to develop and grow and also taken on a part time member of staff!

Con grates if you are keeping busy a lot of electrical companies are feeling the pinch but work is out there but you have to invest if you want it doesn't always come to you

Ive just read this thread.

Ive never heard of Mr Electrics before.

It sounds hilarious.

To my shame im a village idiot when it comes to computers. Could someone post a link that I could click on to view the Mr Electric way.....the mat etc.

I need a laugh, im bored.

Thanks.

Cheers for the link Durham.

I looked at it and a few others.

It actually didnt make me laugh too much.

Bloody awful.

I wouldn't want to be in a suit and tie working in a loft in July.

I don't actually 'get it'. If people are switched on enough to be a qualified electrician why would they waste their money getting involved with Mr Electric? I read sums of 15K to 30K on this thread.

If I had 30K I would take 2 or 3 years off work. Marlin / Tuna fishing.

We are all very different with the way behave in life, I would personally tell Mr Electric what to do with his yellow van.

What a scam.
