Hello All,

I'm looking at getting some test gear and I'm looking at either Metrel MI3000 or Fluke1651 - both a similar price.

Can any of you guys give any feedback on these meters?

I've only really used Metrel 61557 before and might even get some of these second hand if in good nic.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks

I haven't used the fluke but have spoken to people who say it can be a bit of a pain. they were air con installers though so probably user error.

I've used metrels for a good few years now and cannot fault them, other than they don't like the cold too much so in the winter you need to get them out of the van to warm up for half an hour or so before testing. I don't think that is limited to metrels though.

I have 3 61557 s and will be selling 2 of them as I have just upgraded to a 3125B, mostly cos I like the size and weight, which I have to say is a cracking little tester once you get used to working through the menus.

My Metrel use to come off my van every night for this reason until I started getting lazy and it now stays on all the time and the battery on the modern ones is good and mine is always ready to use as long as I don't leave long periods between times using it.
