Extract from GS38
(i) have finger barriers or are shaped to guard against inadvertent hand contact with the live conductors under test;
(ii) are insulated to leave an exposed metal tip not exceeding 4 mm measured across any surface of the tip. Where practicable it is strongly recommended that this is reduced to 2 mm or less, or that spring loaded retractable screened probes are used;

Nothing a bit of insulation tape won't sort out!

I'd never spend 500+ for any type of voltage detector

Who said anything about voltage detector it says multi-function detector on the packet.

surely things aren't that bad that you cant get yourself a decent tester, you get what you pay for!!!!!!

I'll have you know am-tech are the leading electronic tester manufacture in Pingyao

Edit: Cotty whats GS38?

Totally missed the fact it called it a multifunction tester, probably blinded by the level of cheapness that thing shows.

And it is overpriced slightly, they have the next model up in our pound shop and this has the bluetooth option too
