Christ that's hard to watch

There is absolutely no way the driver couldn't have known someone had been hit

It happened in birmingham, i know the area, its Lozelles, its pretty much the same area as where the two black girls , Dean and Shakespere were shot on new years eve about 10 years ago. Unfortunatly the area, like a lot of the slums around here is full of young lads and gangs, the standard of driving is frightning and they think its fine to drive like that. if it wasnt for the fact that there was a innocent woman and child involved then most would not have batted a eye lid at this type of driving, its the norm. and worse still is that this area is very heavily populated with Asian families, and although this would normally have no bearing on such a incident, Aisian males have access to some seriously powerful cars as there is a culture to share amongs the family, the scary truth is that you can have a 18yr old lad behind the wheel of a RS6 audi or AMG merc, and that is what makes driving in these areas such a liabilty especially after dark, I drive a 335BHP Focus RS, and i know when i was 18 if you had given me my car now, well you may as well have given me a loaded gun.

Unfortunately young asian males seem to lack common sense, last year we had some really bad snow and I had one right up my rear in lane 3 on m6 flashing his lights I couldnt go anywhere as other 2 lanes were blocked, could only do 50,anyway this clown undertook me cut another car up then undertook another car just to get 100 yards further up,all the while he had earphones on.A call to the motorway police was made and hopefully they caught him.Absolute loon.

while there is absolutely no excuse for the driver, one has to wonder why the woman and child were not using the pedestrian crossing, only a few yards away, judging by the zig-zags in the foreground.

I see this all the time. There's a zebra crossing yard from my house and a school just down the road, the number of parents who don't bother teaching their kids to use the crossing is terrible. My boy will have road safety thrashed into him if necessary.

my thoughts exactly, same near me theres 3 crossings and people wont walk an extra couple of hundred yards to use one but they all moaned to get them put in,time to educate pedestrians instead of putting all the responsibility for road safety on drivers.

And they usually do all this whilst on the mobile phone, and not wearing seatbelts. I have no problem with them not wearing seatbelts, in fact i would actively encourage it, they would be no loss to society if they were off the road forever, but i draw the line when they put me and mine at risk.

Cheers................Howard

what you say is no exageration at all. i look out for this all the time and i would confidently say that over 80% of them don't wear seatbelts. i don't know why they're allowed to get away with it.

double parking winds me up n'all. they're always at it outside my house. two cars parked side-by-side full of kn*****ds just sat there, eating takeaways and smoking draw. they completely block off one side of the road which means the cars going downhill past my house have to wait for a gap on the other side of the road before they can get past.

on one occasion last year, the queue of cars being held up, stretched to about 10 or so vehicles, and the first car - directly behind the illegally parked car, was a bloody panda car. i thought, nice one, he's gonna hit the blues and two's and get the a-holes shifted....did he? did he buggery. the shivering git just sat there and waited for a gap to appear.

just a word about the indians and oriental asians - i feel it's only right to point out that i don't include these fellas in my little rant. if i was asian, i'd be pretty pee'd off if i was constantly being lumped-in with the other lot.

It's a sad truth that traffic police are slowly becoming an endangered species. And regular police don't know how or don't have the time or can't be bothered to deal with such matters. For my sins, I do a few days a week as a Civil Enforcement Officer ('Traffic Warden') and the number of times I've seen coppers ignore folk on their mobiles, parked on crossing zig-zags etc., it makes me mad. But I guarantee that the first time I did it, I'd get nailed!
