Hi all,

hopefully just a quick question, and answer...

I'm looking for a part in the regs that is specific to museums

I had it come up in my 23911-2 exam and couldn't find it then so guess there weren't classed as anything special but when i exited the exam and spoke to a friend of mine he said he found it by fluke and dint know it was in the regs either.

But i can't find it does anyone know a page number??

Thanks
S

Never heard of anything specific to museums...and cant imagine why there would be.After all a museum could be just about any type of building, open space, outside area...and house just about anything you can think of.
There is no reference to museums in the index either.

I totally agree, i couldn't find any reference to it in the index either so guessed they were just using it as an example but like i say i was told by my mate, who haven't seen for a while now that he found it?

422.6 Locations of national, commercial, industrial or public significance mentions museums,
It then goes on to talk about fire precaution, I think the exam may have been trying to get you to design a system run in MI or something along those lines.

I knew I'd seen museums in the book somewhere, Kind of had to be under fire protection somewhere what with all that old gear hanging around.

Was just about to reply and you'd beaten me to it.:grouphug:

you learn something every day. I knew that museums often have exposed wiring run in pyro, but i thought that it was to do with aesthetics rather than to comply with regs. I shall be reading over that chapter of the regs, as it obviously an area that i need to brush up on.
