How long is a piece of string?

Add up the cost of materials required, add to that your markup then put a bit on for contingency in case you have missed something.

Take your hourly rate and times that by the amount of hours needed to do the job including any hours that you have to pay to hired labour.

Add them both together and that is your price.

Without seeing the job it would be impossible to give a price with so little information. What is the construction? How big is the building? Are you chasing into brick, block, breeze? how easy are the cable runs going to be? Is it occupied? is it furnished etc etc etc, the list of possibilities is endless, What are the "other bits and bobs"?

Cheers..............Howard

I seem to be missing something... How did you get the job without providing an initial quote

Price per point is the best way. Do about £65 per point for all chrome points and £50 for anything else unless they are supplying the materials

Just out of interest - when you say '£50 per point', do you include switches on lighting circuits, or just the luminaire points ? Purely as a example, would a luminaire operated by 2 way switching be classed as 1 x £50 or 3 x £50 ?

Cheers
Steve

Work out materials then price your labour per point.
If it's unoccupied then 1.5 hours per point.
Occupied 2 hours per point.
That will give you a quick figure to look at.

What area of north london is it in? There so many factors that need taking into consideration. Have you seen the job? Is the house being refurbed at the same time as often this helps as floor will be up etc?

Do you know any other sparks that you could perhaps take there for a few hours to give you a hand on pricing it?
