My energy station

Evening, anyone had any pv panels fitted by my energy station group. We may go the route of not paying installation fee, and just getting the free electric, generated from the energy the panels produce, and the company getting the tariff for the next 25 years or so. Cheers.

The free electric you'll get is pretty minimal. What's your lifestyle? If the family's all out at work all day the free electricity will only keep the fridge ticking over. Big consideration is that mortgage lenders are reportedly iffy about lending on a property with a sitting tenant on the roof, so if you want to move you may find trouble selling. And bear in mind if someone wants to put several thousand poundsworth of kit on your roof the payback must be worth a lot to them - check how much they'll get and how much (little?) you'll get.

@fredrico Do the math, you'll see that you're better off adding to your mortgage (borrow the money) and you'll be quids in. - The free boys are after all borrowing the money form the banks anyway.
