I've scrapped some components lately and I put aside some special ones that Im undecided to throw then away or to keep. They look important. From what I can say, that black cilindrical 'case' is made from Ferite (not plastic) and inside is a coil with 4 wires coming out. Could be some sort of transformer? What these are ? What was their (possible) use?

Thank you !

It is likely to be a transformer, if the 4 wires are from two coils, however it could just be a choke or inductor.

These are designed for high frequency use, so it could be from a switched mode power supply (smps) but might be a bit big for that, it could also be used in certain high frequency equipment such as TV or radio.

The key really is what it came out of.

That would most likely give a better idea of which part of the circuit it was used In.

The black cases are what I know as Ferrite pot cores, and the bobbins inside would be wound to suit the particular application needed, eg an inductor or a transformer, as Julie says.
The construction of those you have look like they are out of old industrial equipment. I don't think that method of holding the cores together would be found in todays mass production techniques!
Seem to remember coming across them (not these exact ones!) in the erase oscillator circuit of valve (tube!) tape recorders in my youth. May be wrong.
I'd be surprised if you find a use for them, but you never know!
