Hi people,

I have my NAPIT assessment coming up next Thursday, with Robert Finney.
Im taking him to a re-wire i did about 6 months ago.
I have done my 2391, but am a little rusty as i have not done no testing for a long time.
Could any one give me any advise as i am quite nervous.

Thanks

pracice testing at home .preferably when her inddors hasn't got the soaps rubbish on the telly

Hi, I'm napit registered and Robert did my assessment before Xmas. He is a really nice guy and makes you feel totally relaxed so don't panic! What area are you from?

Oh rite, blimey Robert gets around I'm from heathrow. I really panicked with my assessment but there's nothing to worry about. Good luck with the assessment and let us know how it goes.

napit wrote to my mates company offering 18 months membership for the price of 12. Desperate if you ask me, why an earth would an NICEIC Approved Contractor want to transfer to napit ? No they wouldn't.

The letter stated they are the most up and coming scheme or words to that effect lol. Offering all in membership to carry out pirs as well, get real napit, I'm qualified to do what I like, don't need your permission, get over it.

Anyway, hes staying with the NICEIC and I'm staying as the QS.

Jel, don't feel they are helpful, they want your money, like all the schemes, your doing the manual work, while they do the non productive regulating.

Tonys I agree with you, at the end of the day all the scheme providers are doing the non productive regulating. Its just everyones choice who they go with, Im with NAPIT and they have been very helpfull and I have no complaints. Jel glad the assesment went well.

Thanks everyone.
I would have liked to of gone with the NICEiC but as a domestic installer i would not have been able to do periodics.
I feel i need to get more experience in testing, if i was to apply for the approved contractor route of the NIC.
I have also heard through many sources that the NIC can be very unhelpful, and even heard people say they are nor there to give electricians advise, they are here to make sure the public is kept safe when notifiable electrical work is carried out (not in them exact words, but something along them lines)
Lets see how things go with NAPIT for a year, and if things are that bad i will have to consider making the switch.

No this is not true. He explained the only time you have to re-do your 2391 is when you work for a company who requires all employees to take it, regardless if they have it or not.
He said when he joined a company a while back they put him on the 2391, but he explained to the admin that he had already done it, and she said she did not realise and he said he had to sit it because she would have got in trouble, because it cost the company money. He said luckily he passed it ;)
