Today I got a couple of these torches from RS based on a friend's recommendation:


There are compact 1 * AA battery, and very bright when focused so handy for peering in to dark orifices. But best of all they don't have that stupid flashing effect on slightly disturbing the switch/battery that so many of the LED torches inflict on you!

I have seen cheaper elsewhere, but postage added where as I have an RS account so no extra charge for that.

I have a couple of the VLIFE SW-8066, bought through Amazon, they are amazing, from my home I can light up the trees on the other side of our paddock with ease, useful when the scrotes are about, they run on a single LiFi battery that seems to last indefinitely, but do have the silly flashing mode when the button is pushed twice.
