Need a new multi meter.

Damaged my multi meter last week and now it just makes a bleeping noise everytime i turn it on whatever setting it is on.

Still works but the noise is bleeding annoying and as it was only a tenner from maplins i'm not to bothered to see it go as it wasn't that good.
So if anyone knows a good multimeter for about 30-40 can you please let me know .

do a member search for "Test Meter", see what they have for your budget, normally quite reasonable on price.

I dont know if you can stretch to the £80 mark but if you can then you would be in the market for a Fluke T5-600, possibly the best GS38 approved voltage tester on the market, i use one and i know a lot of the lads use them and they are brilliant

Mind you if its only for day to day site use and the fact he is a apprentice and what he will be doing with it a T5 maybe a better piece of equipments

If your interested . I am selling my T5 complete with crocs and holster . Had it about 16 months and it has never let me down . Never abused but always used . Usual wear and tear etc , but still good condition.

But will be after £55.00 to include recorded delivery etc

I have only changed over to another unit with a larger display due to eyes !!

yeah, not much use for mutimeters in general use now. i do use mine though for continuity and fault finding. my voltage tester is one with LEDs so no use for accuracy. not going to upgrade it though. it'll last me out.

Yeah i only use mine for fault finding really, and just to test to see if theres any voltage. I don't really trust those new pens yet ha.

Pens have their uses, i only use mine generally to check that the lights work when no lamps are available, doesn't check the neutral but that will have been tested earlier anyway.

Yeah i suppose the pens do have there uses for outside lights and so on.

May buy one eventually.

With the rise of testers like T5's and the common use of MFT's if you have both of these it's rare to need a multimeter, I can't remember the last time I used mine
